I’m no blogger

So, obviously, I’m no blogger.  Is this space even considered a blog in the real blogosphere-I really don’t know.  I don’t write here on any consistant basis. I don’t particularly get any thrill out of writing about controversial or offensive material for the sake of pissing people off, and I certainly don’t get paid for giving my opinions on this little space of mine 🙂 So- a real blog in the real blogoshere-probably not.  This is just a place for me, and anyone who’s interested in my journey to making my own dreams become reality.  Occasionally I may throw in a personal "waffle" or two. For the most part, it’s a place to motivate me to get off my ass and do the things I said I was going to do.

I have to admit I’m having fun figuring out all the little gadgets you can do with one of these spaces. So, this may be a testing ground for me on the road to greater things.  It’s also a place for me to document my progress in the process of each of my goals.  If you’re a writer, a jewelry maker, a tarot card reader, feel free to offer any suggestions you may have for me a long the way. I’m all for learning new and creative ways of doing things and you may help someone else in the process.  If you just want to add a comment to let me know what your goals are at this moment in your life, feel free to do that, too.  I love hearing about people making positive changes in themselves, as well as the world around them.

See ya,

    Hi Disa

I am like you, not really a blogger but I did have a very large website a few years ago which was popular and I used to write a lot of things for it. I think the main reason I started on here was because people kept asking me too, then after I did very few of them actually accepted the invite to join so I assume they would prefer just to visit anonymously so people don\’t know they are friends with me. LOL

I am not actually sure of my goals at the moment due to recent events but I am on the same path as I was before, the last few days I have actually come out of my shell a little and been more public about some of the things I do to groups both on and off the internet. I had some very special things happen in October that actually left me speechless and rather than go on an ego trip I decided that I would just tell my family and a couple of people online. I set very high limits for myself and am always pushing myself beyond them but I know in my mind I am still in full control. I think one of the things I am worried about is that if I act upon whats happened to me over the last month then I stand a chance of being pushed further into the public eye than I want. I have other committments which I work around so really don\’t want to be in a position where I am consumed by exterior events I have little control over.

I might actually get one of my tarot decks out as well as I have now been told twice in the last 3 weeks that there is a message in there waiting for me. LOL

    Hiya, Dev!

I\’m excited to hear about all of your new adventures.  I understand what you mean about maybe not wanting to be so much in the public eye. I\’m not sure how I\’d ever adapt to that if I was in the position to do so.  You should get your tarot decks out.  If you happen to need any resources about where to go for serious tarot study I happen to have a few 🙂 I also found an online writing group using tarot.  Maybe I should figure out how to make a list of frequently visited sites that I love. hmm there must be a button around here somewhere for that?

    Hi Disa

I think there may be a conspiracy somewhere to stop me networking, I decided to attend an event today aftering thinking long and hard about it only to step out the door this evening into a storm, they actually forecast tornadoes today but not on the USA scale. I decided not to  go as they just put out a severe weather warning for my area so the public remain safe from me for a few more days. LOL

I am actually thinking of getting one of my decks out later now that I have some free time with nothing to do so will probably go for either my dragon tarot or my druid one as they are my favourites. I was having a look at your lists earlier, I only had one of the sites in my bookmarks so gave me somewhere else to look. I been to a lot of sites covering various subjects but never seem to find very many that impress me or allow me to learn something obscure. I find many sites these days are just copies of other sites or have inaccurate information, although saying that I have some very random and out there ideas so they could be correct. LOL

    Hi Dev,

Well perhaps the message you spoke of that is waiting to be unleashed from one of your decks realizes that it canot be revealed if you don\’t stay home and actually use your deck. 🙂

Regarding the lists, Aeclectic is a huge resource with an extremely active forum and I\’m sure everyone with any interest in tarot from collectors to historians to people just starting out will find the site just as beneficial as people who have been reading for years.

Tarot for life has a somewhat smaller forum but they do offer a weekly Sunday Chat specifically about Tarot which I have been enjoying the past few months.  Everyone that attends participates and there are often views of a card presented that I had not considered before. Next week they will be finishing up their journey through an entire deck card by card. I am sorry to say I was not there for the beginning of their talks.  In 2 weeks they will be starting all over again but this time looking at the cards as related to numbers.  I think they will go through The Aces of each suit as well as the courts and/or majors that correspond with the number one to see how they all relate during one session and carry on with the 2\’s the following week, etc.  It\’s really the first site I\’ve found that really focuses on Tarot so I\’m pretty sure I\’ll be there "taroting for a lifetime" each Sunday Morning at 11:30 EST.

    Hi Disa

Still not got chance to use the decks, although I am going to try before bed as I do actually feel in the mood tonight for some reason. I did a couple of photo reads earlier which I don\’t normally do much and got thanked for some stuff I did a few nights ago as I turned out to be very accurate. Healing has been a very big feature today seems most of the people I know wanted or needed it so got sidetracked from getting my decks out. LOL

Aeclectic is the only site I have ever really had bookmarked I found it handy if I want to buy some cards to go have a look at them first and get an idea of what they are like rather than just seeing the outside of a pack. I did actually find a nice shop in Glastonbury that has a large stock or all kinds of cards plus they have folders with some of the cards from each pack in so you can see what you are buying. I like the Aeclectic forums as well they seem pretty interesting and have a lot of information, not that I admit to learning anything ever hiding away in my little shell.

I had thought about setting up a site with forums and chat to have classes and stuff but not too sure if it would work as many people will support you then just either not come to it or just join never to be seen again and as I would have to pay for it all I am not sure its worth the risk.

    Hiya Dev,

As far as starting your own site, I\’m sure you already know all that\’s involved with it.  Of course I\’m going to say trust your intuition, but maybe that\’s a good thing to ask the cards when you get a chance? 🙂

    Hi Disa

I have looked into it a lot and know it is a lot of hard work and can be costly, I was previous a major part of a chat site before many years ago but that was spread between 4 of us and the chat part was unique as one of the owners was a programmer so made it from scratch with zero cost.

I have booked a little "me" time later and providing nothing goes wrong I will be getting the cards out, plus I promised someone I would do a read for them as they been waiting over a year. LOL

Hi DisaYeah I did in the end, started off doing a read for myself and then did a couple for other people not that I am very good at it. I used my Runes as well which I have not done very often and read for a couple of people online but think I need more practise with them.Dev
